Holland Lop is one of the cutest rabbit breeds! There are so many breeds, but we will talk about Holland Lop. How did this breed emerge? We will discuss their physical appearance, temperament, and things that can make you adopt a bunny like Holland Lops.

Holland Lop breed is present because of the bunny breeder named Adriann de Cock. He tried to make a small version of a French Lop, so he mixed French Lop and Netherland Dwarf, but the six kits grew up not lop-eared rabbits; it was unsuccessful. So the next thing he did was crossbreed English Lop instead and it was a success.

The first Holland Lop shown weighed two kilograms in 1964 but the Netherlands breed society aimed to breed Holland Lops that weighed only 1.5 kilograms. The Holland Lop club was established when they imported the breed to the United States in 1976 to give recognition to Rabbit Breeders Association.

Because of this breed's size, Holland Lop is one of the smallest rabbit breeds. They are small bunnies with flat faces and lop ears. They are called Holland Lop because they have ears like branches of a tree draping from the main tree or also what we call lopping. Those floppy ears are cute!

Holland Lop bunnies weigh around 3-4lbs and have compact bodies. They have short legs and their head is broad.

Their colors can be dominant white or with broken patches or patterns. There are also black, chocolate, blue tort, or lilac.
